That of the Immaculate Conception is a dogma proclaimed on December 8, 1854, by Pope Pius IX, with the bull “Ineffabilis Deus,” and it sanctions the perfect nature, devoid of original sin, of the Virgin from her conception. In fact, in the Gospel it is told that she lived in the temple in Jerusalem, fed by angels.
Traditional iconography associated with the Immaculate Conception sees her standing on a crescent moon while eternally crushing the head of the serpent, the symbol of evil.
Prima Bottega pays homage to the Immaculate Conception with a hood in a shouldered version in medium walnut shade and matte finish with gold leaf cross.
